MARGRET ASA SIGMUNDSON Passed away peacefully July 6, 2016 in her 90th year. Margret was a loving and devoted aunt and will be dearly missed by nieces Marnie Bonnett and Brenda Bonnett (Jimi Avon), nephew Karl Bonnett (Jutta) of Winnipeg; great-niece Jennifer Bonnett-St. Louis (Dave); great-nephews Chris and Kevin Bonnett of Winnipeg; nieces Lynda Crowe and Margret Wojcik and their families in Arizona; and her extended family in Canada and Iceland. Margret was a career nurse who retired as a head nurse at Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto, in 1991, after more than 30 years service. She will be fondly remembered by the Oncology Nurses Support Group (who have met monthly for over 40 years) as a friend, role model and mentor. Margret valued her many friends at Lambton Square and her dear, long-time chums Sue Petursson, Mississauga, and Ruth Brott, Innisfil. Margret was an avid baker and knitter and had a deep love of opera and classical music. Of proud Icelandic heritage, she was strong, kind, and compassionate, with a great sense of humour. A celebration of her life will be held later this summer. Donations may be made in her memory to the Odette Cancer Centre through the Sunnybrook Hospital Foundation.
